Exterior: 4/10

It’s not really awful, but that’s the best thing I can say about it.

Interior: 2/10

It’s the worst thing I’ve ever sat in. My 1978 Subaru BRAT was put together better. I will not curse you with a picture.

Handling: 1/10

Every truck I’ve ever driven feels nimble in comparison. I have no clue how someone can make a 2500 lbs car feel so fucking heavy. It rolls and dives like an ocean in a storm, and it understeers like it is on ice. I daily drive a 1995 4Runner with a ruined suspension, so my expectations aren’t that high.

Brakes: 5/10

They stop the car without much drama.

Acceleration: 3/10

The Slowrunner feels fast.

Transmission: 2/10

It would be better as an automatic. I’ve yet to find a worse manual gearbox, and I’ve driven a few old tractors.

Other Things: 7/10

It will go places our GMT900 will not. It will take a lashing on an unpaved road. Still not very fun.

An Aveo sedan (with wood(?) Trim) was my driver’s Ed car.

I wanted to cry. It was miserable. At first, I thought my civic was fast because the Aveo was the only other thing I ever drove.

It was cheap. It was loud. It was sad.

The automatic was Meh. So i can’t believe how much worse the Manual was.

These cannot be defended in any way, shape, or form. If there's one car that that was a complete representation of the lack of fucks GM gave in the mid 00s, it's the Aveo.

And that's coming from a Chevy guy.

It has more play while in gear, than any manual I’ve driven out of gear. Also, there is a delay in the clutch.

I had a Cruze in Driver’s Ed. It drove just like you describe this pitiful little misery box. It actually wasn’t that slow, but it had less pizzazz than Ben Carson at a funeral.

It is terrible. You know how much I can’t stand how the GMT400 drives, but they drive like a dream in comparison. I really think the Aveo was an experiment to see how brand loyal people were, and actually tried to be terrible.

Show up for a Malibu, leave in Aveo. Just like show up for a Charger, leave in a Dart. Switch car for the credit or financially impaired. At least broke or credit challenged get a vehicle with a new car warranty. It is what it is.
